Therapy for the things that feel hard to say
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST · LONDON iN pERSON & uK ONLINE
Evidence based psychology for the things that can feel difficult to talk about.Â
Some difficulties are easy to name. Others live further down — the self-criticism that never switches off, the things you've never told anyone, the parts of your history that feel unsayable.

I'm Dr Eve da Silva, an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist. I specialise in shame and self-criticism — including the kinds people find hardest to talk about.

Perhaps you recognise this…
Your mind keeps working long after the day has ended. Achievements rarely quiet the inner critic. You've become skilled at seeming fine.
Or perhaps it's more specific. Something happened — online, in a relationship, years ago — and the shame of it has quietly organised everything since.
You do not need to protect me from what you have been carrying. We can begin wherever feels manageable.
Shame survives in silence and judgement; it does not survive long in a warm, boundaried, unshockable room. Building that room is my job. Most people begin with "I don't really know how to explain this" — and that's a perfectly good opening.
You do not need to wait until things become unmanageable before seeking support.

A note from me
I'm Eve. I spent ten years in NHS and specialist services before private practice, in settings ranging from veterans' mental health to a national specialist psychosexual service, and I completed my doctorate at King's College London. I publish research on shame and sexuality, and I co-created a free compassion-focused self-help resource with senior figures in the field. Outside my practice as a clinical psychologist and cognitive behavioural psychotherapist, I am a Zen Yoga teacher and I paint and write.Â
